Recon 26416X Xtreme 60" Tailgate Light Bar Amber, Red & White Scanning LED Review

I have installed the Recon Xtreme 60" tailgate light bar on my 1986 Dodge Ram short bed truck.It was not easy to do.I had to drill holes in the bed to hold the bar on as I had no confidence that the adhesive strips would hold.In fact, they did not as it pulled the paint off of the bed!So I removed the adhesive strips that were attached to the bar with short screws.I then drilled holes in the bed to support the bar.It is a much better installation and is removable for painting.I also had to run a hot 12v wire from under the hood to the light bar and a seperate brake light sense wire from the brake switch to the light bar.One of the white LED bulbs is very weak for the backup lights but I will live with that problem.The amber turn sequential turn signals are very neat and the brake and backup LED lights work well. I contacted the customer support people at Recon and found them to be unhelpful and unknowledgeable about their own product.The instructions that came with the light bar were awful.This is not a product for the person that is not mechanically inclined.I suppose it would be easier to install on a late model pickup that had suitable wiring already available.
